Horror

An emotional state characterized by abnormal physical agitation (shuddering, tingling, screaming) which is caused by a stimuli/ being that is physically and perhaps morally threatening. The threatening stimuli/being has the property of being impure and as such, motivates the desire to avoid touch with the stimuli/being. Two important evaluative beliefs come into play – for a stimuli/being to elicit horror, it must be thought of as being threatening and impure. That is, the target is evaluated in terms of both threat and disgust.
