Rejection
GLOSSARY
Feelings of shame and distress elicited from not being accepted by a desired relationship, person, or group that can impact the individual’s emotional and psychological wellbeing. Rejection involves direct negative attention and is distinct from ostracism, which is characterized as getting no attention in the presence of others.
